John C. English, P.E., LEED, AP, Vice President of Engineering, is responsible for overseeing current projects and also cultivating new opportunities for Peninsula Engineering. For over 20 years, he has provided civil design, permitting, and construction services for numerous large-scale master planned communities, resorts, golf courses, and commercial developments, among many other land uses of various size and scope. John has been an integral part of many visible projects in Collier County.

David Hurst, P.E., LEED-AP, Senior Project Manager, is responsible for site planning and design, permitting, roadway design, cost estimating, and project scheduling. Hurst’s professional background includes 15 years of private and public sector design and management experience within southwest Florida including such notable projects as VeronaWalk, Heritage Bay, Hampton Village at Ave Maria, Seacrest Country Day School, and Hyatt Coconut Plantation Resort.

Dan Waters, P.E., Senior Project Manager, is responsible for overseeing current projects and also cultivating new opportunities for Peninsula Engineering. Dan graduated from the University of Florida in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and has over 15 years of experience in the public and private sector. In the private sector, Dan’s experience includes providing consulting services in support of rezoning requests, site civil design, permitting services, and construction phase services for master planned communities, golf courses, and commercial developments. Immediately prior to joining Peninsula Engineering in 2015, Dan worked in the public sector as the Administrator of the Regulatory Program at the Lower West Coast Service Center of the South Florida Water Management District.

Dan Hartley, P.E., Project Manager, is responsible for pre-development consultation; project, team and contract management; land development and civil engineering design; permitting; and construction inspection and certification for projects at Peninsula Engineering. Since 2007, Dan has provided effective and efficient consultation services for large-scale master planned communities, residential developments and commercial projects in Southwest Florida. Dan graduated from University of Florida in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.

Rebecca Acx, P.E., a graduate of the University of Missouri, was named Young Engineer of the Year in 2006-07 by the Florida Engineering Society, Calusa Chapter. With six years of engineering experience, Ms. Acx serves as Peninsula Engineering’s expert on the innovative design software, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), keeping the firm on the cutting edge of engineering technologies.

Bruce Layman, C.E., P.W.S., Ecologist and Environmental Permitter, is responsible for providing environmental design and permitting support for Peninsula Engineering projects. Bruce has over 25 years of local, state, and federal wetland and wildlife permitting experience for both private and municipal clients in the Caribbean and Southwest Florida.

Dave Dunnavant, CGC1519862, is an expert in construction management, specializing in overseeing projects from conception to conclusion. His resume includes supervision of such projects as Ave Maria Town Center and Commerce Park, Publix supermarket and in-line retail building, golf clubhouses, banks, and numerous office buildings. With his can-do attitude and familiarity with Southwest Florida land development, clients consider him an indispensible asset to their projects.

Steve Sammons, RLA, LEED AP, Project Manager and Landscape Architect is responsible for master planning, site concept design, entry and amenity feature design and enhanced landscape planning design. A graduate of the University of Florida, Steve has over 25 years of experience working on projects providing conceptual design through design development, construction documents, cost estimating, and construction observation. Notable projects include Treviso Bay, Maple Ridge at Ave Maria, Pelican Preserve and Verona Walk.
